The Green Wave Auto Wash service delivery process
The Green Wave Auto Wash service delivery process is designed for efficiency, quality and a premium customer experience, integrating technology and sustainable practices throughout.
    Customer Arrives:
The process begins when a customer arrives at the Green Wave Auto Wash facility.
    Select Service:
A friendly attendant greets the customer, explains service options, and utilizes license plate recognition for online booking verification. Customers then select their desired service package, which can include various wash levels or detailing services.
    Payment Received:
Customers pay for their selected service via a digital kiosk or with assistance from an attendant.
    Tunnel Wash:
For exterior washes, vehicles undergo pre-wash preparation, including an AI-powered scan for specific cleaning needs, followed by a high-pressure rinse and eco-friendly pre-soak. The automated tunnel then applies biodegradable soaps, various cleaning systems and protective coatings, with an active water reclamation system in place.
Exit Tunnel/Detail Bay or Vacuum Bay:
After the tunnel wash, a spot-free rinse and high-velocity drying complete the exterior. Vehicles then move to either a vacuum bay for self-service or a detail bay for full-service packages. For full-service and detailing, vehicles move to an interior bay where trained staff perform thorough cleaning using eco-friendly products.
    Quality Check:
The entire process concludes with a supervisor’s quality check to ensure the vehicle meets Green Wave Auto Wash’s standards.
    Vehicle Presentation and Departure:
The cleaned vehicle is presented to the customer, who is then invited to join loyalty programs or leave reviews. The customer then departs, having received a high-quality, efficient and environmentally responsible car wash experience.

You have been hired as the billing manager for Nash Medical Center and Clinics.
One of your responsibilities is to calculate what the patient owes and what the insurance company owes, so that you can determine what revenue to expect for these services. You have the charge and the usual, customary, and reasonable (UCR) amount. The reimbursement will be calculated on the 80/20 distribution. The deductibles for each of these patients have been met. Under this insurance plan, $20.00 copays are due for primary care physician office visits and $40.00 copays for specialists. There is no copay for other services. The Medical Center also recently negotiated with a group of employers to treat their patients based on a capitated amount of $750 per person per month (pmpm) This group of employers has combined 6,525 employees. You predict that your cost will be $610 per month per person. The budgeted revenue was initially $1,575,000. You were provided with the following report.

    2. Structural and personal factors that cause conflict
If you are cynical by nature and one of your coworkers is optimistic by nature, you are likely to engage in conflict caused by factors.Use your knowledge of the structural and personal factors that can cause conflict to match each of the following examples with the type of conflict it causes.
AnswerConflict FactorExample EmotionsA. The last union negotiation at Aggregated Chemicals didn’t go very well. Jack, the union negotiator, was anxious because he was afraid the union would stop hiring him for negotiations. Paul, the company negotiator, was angry because there had been several union negotiation sessions in the past months that didn’t seem to go anywhere. As a result, Jack was more aggressive in his negotiations and Paul was less willing to make concessions. The two were at an impasse.
Goal DifferencesB. Jasmine is from China, where she has been taught that managers have the final authority in organizations and you should do what they say. Chad is from Pittsburgh and he believes you ought to question managers regularly because everyone in the organization has a right to state their opinion. Jasmine and Chad frequently argue over how to interact with their managers.
CultureC. Carina and Natalya share an IT technician, Mandie. But both Carina and Natalya always feel like their work is most important, and that’s putting a lot of pressure on Mandie. It’s not always clear who she should attend to first.
Authority RelationshipsD. Nicole is the head of the operations department at Solo Light. Ridhi is the head of research and development for the same company. Nicole’s first priority is to get jobs done as quickly and efficiently as possible, while Ridhi wants to make sure that her employees have enough time both at and away from work to come up with really good ideas. As a result, Nicole and Ridhi often argue about how much vacation time employees should really have.
Common ResourcesE. Richard grew up with a father who frequently cut him down and told him that he would never amount to anything. This made Richard very skeptical of people who are “above” him in any way. Richard and his boss, Xenia, frequently have arguments in which Richard tells Xenia to leave him alone and Xenia says, “I’m your boss! You have to listen to me!”

The marketing team at Bright Ideas Inc. has been working on a new campaign to promote their latest product. The team leader, Jamie, has always relied on the opinions of a few senior team members when making decisions. Jamie believes these senior members have the most experience and therefore, their ideas are the most valuable.During a brainstorming session, several junior team members suggested innovative ideas for the campaign. However, Jamie quickly dismissed these suggestions, stating that the senior members’ ideas were more likely to succeed. This left the junior members feeling undervalued and frustrated.Additionally, Jamie often referred to a successful campaign from a few years ago, using it as a benchmark for all new projects. Jamie insisted any new ideas should closely follow the strategies used in that campaign, despite changes in market trends and consumer behavior. This reliance on past success led to a lack of innovation and adaptability within the team. One of the junior members, Taylor, noticed that Jamie often favored ideas from the senior members without giving equal consideration to others. Taylor also observed that Jamie’s fixation on the past campaign was preventing the team from exploring new and potentially more effective strategies.
Imagine you are Taylor, and you decide to address these issues with Jamie and schedule a meeting to discuss them. Before the meeting, you plan to send an email to Jamie outlining your observations and concerns about the decision-making process within the team.
As you draft your email, consider the following topics:
What 2 types of biases is Jamie demonstrating when making decisions about the campaign ideas?
What impact might Jamie’s approach to decision-making have on the team’s creativity and overall success?
Did Taylor exhibit any barriers in critical thinking when they observed Jamie’s decision-making process? If so, what were they?
Reflect on the importance of logical reasoning and weighing advantages and disadvantages, as discussed in Week 2. How could Taylor use these strategies to effectively communicate their concerns to Jamie?
How might emotional influences have played a role in Jamie’s decision-making process? How could recognizing and addressing these emotional influences improve the team’s critical thinking and decision-making?

  • Kenneth and Patricia Golding spent a career as a husband-and-wife real estate investment…

Kenneth and Patricia Golding spent a career as a husband-and-wife real estate investment partnership in Washington, DC. When they finally retired to a 25-acre farm in northern Virginia’s Fairfax County, they became ardent amateur gardeners. Kenneth planted shrubs and fruit trees, and Patricia spent her hours potting all sizes of plants. When the volume of shrubs and plants reached the point that the Goldings began to think of their hobby in a serious vein, they built a greenhouse adjacent to their home and installed heating and watering systems. The Goldings realized that their retirement from real estate had really only led to a second career—in the plant and shrub business—and they filed for a Virginia business license. Within a matter of months, they asked their attorney to file incorporation documents and formed the firm Golding Landscaping and Plants, Inc.
Early in the new business’s existence, Kenneth Golding recognized the need for a high-quality commercial fertilizer that he could blend himself, both for sale and for his own nursery. His goal was to keep his costs to a minimum while producing a top-notch product that was especially suited to the northern Virginia climate.
Working with chemists at George Mason University, Golding blended “Golding-Grow.” It consists of four chemical compounds: C-30, C-92, D-21, and E-11. The cost per pound for each compound is indicated in the following table:
    Chemical Compound
    Cost Per Pound ($)
    C-30

    C-92
    0.20
    D-21
    0.25
    E-11
    0.30
The specifications for Golding-Grow are as follows:
C-30 and D-21 must together constitute no more than 40 % of the blend.
C-92 and E-11 must together constitute at least 20% of the blend.
Golding-Grow is packaged and sold in exactly 100-pound bags.

  • reply to thisPeople can be made to believe the banking system is safe with guarantees and…

People can be made to believe the banking system is safe with guarantees and reassurances. I know when the economy gets rough like it did during the Great Recession, I wasn’t worried about the banks or the money I had in them. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation providing deposit insurance against loss even if the bank fails provides me with peace of mind. I also think the more transparent banks are and don’t complicate their wording the more their customers will be confident they are making the right decision to do business with them.
Good customer service goes a long way and with any business my personal thought is if employees don’t know what they are talking about or try to be deceitful in any manner to get my business then my trust is automatically broken. With the digital world which is all around us online banking access has decreased the foot traffic into banks and with this I expect strong up to date security measures with limited breaches. I have had my account hacked with other companies than banks that I have done business with, or my information compromised which makes me question how protected my data is. Knowing this I appreciate the extra steps banks take to validate my identity even though it can be aggravating at times. With the readings from this class I also now realize there is more regulations and oversights than I originally thought there was from the government that banks must follow that ensures the protection of my money.
Lastly, like any other business I think they should be clean, organized and professional looking which relays the thought to myself that it is a well ran bank. I do agree with the statement that many individuals in the old days came to place their trust in the protective architecture that banks reflected during that time. I think this was important before 1934 when the FDIC started insuring deposits, and all the current regulations wasn’t in place (Brandl, 2020). Like any other business though it’s nice for the building appearance to reflect quality, professionalism, and the structure not to look run down which to me reflects business isn’t good and is managed poorly. While building appearance is still important, I don’t feel like it must be as aggressive looking with all the modern improvements like online banking, modern security systems, and government protections.
