" Thank you for the invitation, Dr. Fagan, I graciously accept. Once I arrive, I head straight for Dr. Jean Watson to discuss her Theory of Human Caring and the “Ten Caritas Processes”. I have almost completed my theory paper and could really use her expertise.

I know from my research that Dr. Watson’s theory has evolved over the years. Her original theory was a mid-range theory, created in 1979, and emphasized caring and engaging with another through mind, body, and soul (Chinn et al., 2022, p. 37). Refinement of her theory occurred in 1985, 1999, 2006, 2008, and finally evolved in 2018 into a philosophical framework she calls Unitary Caring Science theory of Caritas/Veritas (Watson, 2024). This shift incorporates the Unitary Transformative paradigm, the Caritas/Veritas, and embraces unitary phenomenon such as consciousness, pattern, unity, energy, transcendence, transpersonal, intentionality, and holographic notions (Watson, 2024).

The Clinical Caritas paradigm evolved into the Clinical Caritas-Veritas Process, with Veritas representing values which dignify and honor human care (Viana et al., 2024). Through their evolution, Dr. Watson began using expressive words to describe each element: embrace, inspire, trust, nurture, forgive, deepen, balance, co-create, contribute, and be open (Viana et al., 2024). One question I would like to ask her is which Caritas-Veritas is the most important in her opinion and suggestions she may have to apply them to mental health.

According to Watson (2023), Dr. Watson’s Theory of Human Caring is grounded in a holistic perspective, transpersonal psychology, and the unitary view of being. As someone who is personally and professionally interested in holistic care, the topic I would like to discuss with Dr. Watson is how to improve healthcare and heal patients holistically as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Nurses are typically trained in healing which is focused on physiological aspects instead of spiritual dimensions and humanistic aspects (Watson, 2023). What path or instructions would Dr. Jean Watson suggest to becoming trained in all three aspects?

    **Case Study: Fiscal Federalism Assignment**

Define the fiscal federalism model and provide a scholarly paper concerning the advantages and disadvantages of fiscal federalism to U.S. states and local governments.

**Case Study: The Supreme Court, Federalism, and Public Administrators Assignment**

    Christensen and Wise (2009) state,

[t]he U.S. Supreme Court has come to play an important role in articulating that system of rules. The Supreme Court’s federalism decisions are especially important in understanding what powers public managers [must] achieve policy priorities in the current context of devolved government.

    For this
**Case Study Assignment,** you will provide a scholarly paper concerning the effect of recent Supreme Court decisions on public administration and federalism.

**Case Study: The U.S. Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations Assignment**

In 1959, Congress created the U.S. ACIR as a 26-member bipartisan federal commission to give continuing attention to intergovernmental problems (Pub. L. No. 86-380, 73 Stat. 703).  On October 1, 1996, its authority to carry out the purposes stated in its Congressionally authorized legislation “sunset.”

Some scholars have called for its re-creation while others have mentioned it served little purpose. For this Case Study Assignment, you will provide a scholarly paper for your support or denial of the re-establishment of the U.S. ACIR.

**Case Study: NASA Collaborative Transformation Assignment**

During and before the Apollo program years at NASA, it was the primary government organization involved in all space technology decisions. Since the Space Shuttle Program, NASA has been reinvented. It transformed from a closed system with a hierarchy that develops its technologies internally, to an open and collaborative network that promotes innovation and collaboration with other public and private organizations. NASA has become more interdependent.

Using the Moon to Mars Mission (Artemis-Orion), describe this new collaborative approach at NASA.

**Case Study: Congressional Clean Lakes Task Force Assignment**

Dr. McGinnis was involved in the Clean Lakes Study at Lake Allatoona, Georgia and facilitated the creation of a collaborative network of federal, state, regional, and local agencies, and organizations to guide the study.  This effort was nationally recognized model of intergovernmental management promoted throughout the U.S. by the U.S. EPA.

Analyze the collaborative effort as a model of intergovernmental management.  Use only peer reviewed sources including articles from journals, textbooks, theses/dissertations.  Including 8-10 sources not including your Biblical analysis.

**Case Study: Federal/State/Local Collaboration Networks in Disasters Assignment**

Address each of the following questions related to federal-state-local collaboration during disasters.

    1. Should there be national goals and strong federal direction, as during the period of “creative federalism,” or greater flexibility for state and local officials to target funds and efforts where they feel there is the greatest need?

    2. What would happen if the federal role in emergency management was simply reduced to providing financial support?

    3. How likely is it that state representatives will address the state’s major hazards without federal encouragement?

    4. What are the advantages of developing local capabilities to reduce hazards? How likely is it that local officials will address risks to life and property without outside funding and support?

Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.

    2. What would happen if the federal role in emergency management was simply reduced to providing financial support?

    3. How likely is it that state representatives will address the state’s major hazards without federal encouragement?

**Needs Assessment for a Relapse Prevention Program**

    LAST WEEK ASSIGNMENT

    March 22, 2026

    **Program Description**

The change proposal that I present in the case of Still Waters Professional Counseling is Life Skills and Relapse Prevention Program of adults under substance use counseling. This is aimed at fixing the poor client engagement rates that I noted during field placement particularly among those who were required to attend counseling by the Department of Family and Children Services. Despite the numerous attendances of clients at their sessions, there are those who present low attendance, motivation and lack of coping skills outside counseling. The program would also involve role plays, guided discussions, weekly goal tracking, practice in triggers management and practice in routine building that would make the treatment more practical and action oriented. According to Dudley (2020), social work assessment is expected to reveal client issues and gaps in service. It is within that framework that this program would bring in additional structured and practical additions to assist clients by making counseling material translate into behavior change, which they need to practice on a daily basis.

    **Inclusion Criteria in the Program**.

The target clientele would consist of adult clients who are already receiving substance use counseling in the agency. The first priority would be given to the clients that are court ordered or referred to Department of Family and Children Services, the clients with a specific behavior those results in relapse on a regular basis, and those clients that cannot always use the methods of coping without the sessions. The inclusion of these clients is due to the fact that they seem to require more than just traditional counseling. Their low attendance patterns imply that there is a discrepancy between the treatment attendance and the benefit of treatment. This at-risk population would be additional in terms of accountability, rehearsal, and support with the help of a structured skills-based program.

    **Justification for the Proposed Program**

Semi structured interviews with clients that already receive substance use services is the first technique that I would utilize to collect credible information. Interviews would enable clients to explain the greatest problems they encounter when attempting to apply coping skills in their daily lives. Such an approach would offer in-depth information regarding the barriers in the form of low motivation, unstable routines, trigger exposure, and weak support systems. The needs assessment that incorporates the voices of the people affected by the service issue directly are more powerful (Ravaghi et al., 2023). This is why the interviews with clients would be a good source of first-hand evidence.

The second technique that I would employ is a short anonymous questionnaire that will be shared among clients and counselors. The client survey would help define the patterns regarding the obstacles to engagement, whereas the counselor survey would involve practice-based observations regarding service participation, risk of relapse, and unmet needs. The importance of using both groups is that the assignment requires the information of the clients and other stakeholders, and counselors are the major stakeholders in the planning and implementation of the program. The surveys would assist in understanding the prevalence of the problem within the agency and would supplement more profound information obtained with the help of interviews.

The two approaches are the best alternatives since interviews are in-depth and surveys are broad. They would then come up with credible evidence to support program development and implementation. It has been found that motivation, tangible assistance, and continuous involvement are core to substance use behavior change, which explains why a structured relapse prevention program and counseling should be implemented (Schwenker et al., 2023; Gaolaolwe et al., 2025). Such a strategy would reinforce the quality of the provided services and increase the likelihood of successful recovery in the clients in the long term.

It is unlikely that an idea for a program will get instant support from stakeholders. Rather, social workers must typically present a proposal that demonstrates critical thought and shows the need for such a program. In other situations, social workers may submit requests for funding on behalf of their agencies. Funding organizations may require a detailed proposal, which often includes a logic model showing the program’s elements.

Using a logic model, social workers can systematically analyze a proposed new program and how those various elements relate to each other. At the program level, the logic model establishes the connection between the resources needed, the program activities, and the anticipated outputs and outcomes. It may also include ways of measuring success. The logic model can provide a clear picture of the program for all stakeholders—and funding organizations, if applicable.

In this Assignment, you generate a logic model for the program you began to develop last week.

    · Return, again, to the program that you identified last week based on the observed need. NOTE: last week assignment will be attached separately.

    · Think about the resources that would be required to implement the program, such as time and money; program activities such training; outputs such as number of clients attending; and outcomes.

    · Review the example on page 116 of the course text, and see the Logic Model Table document in the Learning Resources for assistance with format.

    **Submit** the following:

    · A completed program-level logic model outline (in table format) in which you consider inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes.

    · Elaborate on your program-level logic model in 1 to 2 paragraphs. Include:

    · The aim/goal of the program and proposed program activities

    · Outputs and outcomes

    · Reflection on how creating the logic model has helped you understand and envision the new program

Use the Learning Resources and peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles to support your logic model and reflection. Make sure to include appropriate APA citations and a reference list.

    **## Itisunlikelythatanideaforaprogramwillgetinstantsupportfromstakeholders.docx**

**Research Paper: Literature Assessment Assignment Instructions**

    Overview

Before a scholar can contribute to the academic literature, it is first necessary for that scholar to assess the existing literature. Ultimately, this assessment will be in the form of a thorough Literature Review, which may easily include several dozen sources.

When you write your dissertation, one full chapter will be devoted to an extensive Literature Review. At this point in your studies, you will be asked to complete a much briefer Literature Assessment. This assignment will be less comprehensive and less detailed than a full Literature Review, but it will help you begin to think a bit more broadly about a body of scholarly literature.

If you choose your literature thoughtfully, this assignment can be an important first step toward identifying and assessing literature that will be relevant to your dissertation.

    Instructions

In this assignment you will assess ten or more scholarly sources relevant to a topic that you may research for your dissertation. These ten sources may include – but are not required to include – the sources you used in your Annotated Bibliography assignment. Your Literature Assessment
    should:

    · Explore common themes, assumptions, or approaches in the sources you cover;

    · Assess common weaknesses or limitations in the sources you cover;

    · Identify implications of your Literature Assessment for your future research.

    · Are there common sources you see cited across this literature that seem to be highly influential and worth your attention?

    · Are there common conclusions in this literature about future research that might be warranted?

    · Are there common errors or oversights that may need to be corrected?

    Your
**Literature Assessment Assignment** should be presented in current APA format. It should be at least eight pages of content in length, not including your cover page.

Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.

Your Literature Assessment
    should:

    · Explore common themes, assumptions, or approaches in the sources you cover;

    · Assess common weaknesses or limitations in the sources you cover;
